Service Description

(Beginner Level) Sword dances began as a military training exercise with swords and spears which evolved into an elaborate acrobatic dance. This class requires certain movements that require the dancer to be highly agile and athletic. *No classes on: 9/17, 11/26, 12/24, 12/31 *Online registration closes 9/9.If you are interested in registering for this class, please contact Jiao Li at Teacher Bio: Jiali Wang is an award-winning and multi position dance artist based in New York, New York. Working for New York Chinese Cultural Center as a cultural dance artist, she is also a coordinator of Dance China New York Company. In contemporary dance field, Jiali has found her own dance theater project and has been working on multiple NYC performances as a founder and artistic director, choreographer, and producer. Wang received her BFA from Beijing Dance Academy in 2010, and went on to earn her MFA at SUNY The College at Brockport in 2017. Wang’s choreography has been presented at ACDA Conference, Mark Morris Dance Theater, Movement Research, MuCCC Theater, Green Space, AOS Performance, CBG Dance Festival, The Craft, Sans Limites Movement Festival, Queens Outdoor Dance Festival, PIP Central Park, Dixon Place Theater, Hudson Guild Theater and Brookfield Lunar New Year Gala. Meanwhile, she has performed in works by Mariah Maloney, Nicole Kaplan, Vanessa Voskuil, Jordan Demetrius Lloyd, An Nuo Spiritual Dance Art at Jazz at Lincoln Center, as well as many other choreographers.

Cancellation Policy

CLASSES: No refunds or credits will be made for incidental absences or withdrawals. NYCCC reserves the right to cancel or change any class listed in our class schedule if enrollment is inadequate. We also reserve the right to change instructors. If a class is cancelled and a student is unable to find an appropriate replacement class, tuition will be refunded. If students want to cancel a class, they have to cancel before third week of semester. We will charge student class fee for first 1 or 2 classes and $25 cancellation fee. We will refund the prorated balance of the tuition fee.
